Abbey of Saint Sixtus are Brassite the celebrated beers better known by the name of Westvleteren, named after the small town where the monastery lies in the region of West Flanders on the French border. It is one of six Belgian Trappist breweries, the smallest in size and production. Its construction is reminiscent of a more rural setting that is not religious, but the peace that reigns, the atmosphere lingers, the monks who live convey the sense of serenity typical of the monasteries. Today is the only Trappist brewery where the monks follow the entire production process: five monks follow the production and five assist them during bottling.
